ATLANTA, May 14, 2020 – While the COVID-19 pandemic provokes uncertainty on a global scale, Miller Zell’s unwavering commitment to serving our clients is demonstrated by the recent addition of a pair of dynamic professionals to our team: Michael Larkin and Jamie Smith.

Larkin will step in as Senior Vice President of Retail Sales and National Accounts. He will be responsible for driving business development through empowering our National Accounts retail sales team, while collaborating with the other business leaders at Miller Zell.

Smith is the new Vice President of Global Sourcing & Procurement. His focus will be on further developing our supplier base and bringing additional savings to our clients.

Larkin has been in the industry for 30 years. Prior to joining Miller Zell, he was a business development executive with QUAD Graphics and vice president of business development at SGK, Inc., a provider of targeted advertising and marketing solutions to retailers.

He said Miller Zell’s “breadth of capability is what brought me here,” and that applies to the immediate task of working with clients as they adopt new environmental standards related to COVID-19.

“Our job is to work hand in hand with our clients, to reimagine what the delivery of their products and services will look like,” he said. “The world is going to reopen, and people are going to start re-engaging. What does it look like in the near term? And what does it look like in the long term? That’s our focus.”

Smith has 20 years of experience in global sourcing and procurement. He has managed the sourcing of Indirect, Direct, CAPEX and Finished Goods, working across 14 unique industry verticals either as a direct employee or consultant. He has produced more than $100M in savings during his career. He earned the designation of “Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)” in 2010.

While the global supply chain is more complicated today than perhaps ever before, Smith brings experience and connections that will maximize value for Miller Zell clients.

“The Miller Zell sourcing team is on top of it, working with our supply partners to deliver the best solutions for our customers, on time, at the best price and best quality,” he said. “We continue to source globally and award business strategically to ensure continuity of supply. My goal is for our customers to get a good night's sleep knowing that we have their backs.”

While these are challenging times — emotionally as well as economically — Miller Zell is strengthening its team to meet those challenges. And overcome them.
