Charity and community development live at the heart of Miller Zell’s core values and corporate mission.
The Miller Zell Charities Foundation and our associates raise money and volunteer for a myriad of causes including breast cancer and Alzheimer’s research, the Lupus Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and countless local schools and community organizations. Every year since 2007, members of the Miller Zell Soles Team have walked in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day breast cancer research fundraiser, and many walk multiple events each year.
Miller Zell actively sponsors deserving organizations like the Special Olympics, Wellspring Living and the Alzheimer's Association. For more than a decade, we've hosted an Annual Charity Golf Classic and the “Serve for the Cure” tennis tournament, both benefiting breast cancer research.
In 2018, Miller Zell CFO David Seem was named to the Fulton Workforce Development Board, which oversees programs designed to assist Fulton County residents and employers in developing and sustaining a workforce that realizes viable incomes and benefits.
Seem is also a board member of the Fulton Industrial Community Improvement District, which completed its "Streetscape Improvements" on Fulton Industrial Boulevard, where our home office is located.
Miller Zell is committed to environmentally friendly policies and practices. In 2018, we installed a one-megawatt solar array on the roof of our corporate office and are now generating renewable electricity. We anticipate production of 1,470,000 kWh per year over the next 25 years. Solar production will offset our non-renewable energy use by nearly one-half each year and reduce our annual carbon footprint by 1,206 tons.
Miller Zell is one of 58 companies in the nation that is recognized by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) as a sustainable printing facility. In adopting SGP standards, Miller Zell maintains a sustainability policy that is overseen by a sustainability coordinator and committee. The focuses include energy savings, waste reductions, emissions reductions and reduced resource consumption.
Miller Zell adheres to a comprehensive recycling program, including the use of a process to recycle ultraboard, which is 40 percent of the company’s raw materials. Additionally, Miller Zell’s in-house cafeteria uses green and recycled products, while the company also uses environmentally friendly Ecolab pest control. Further, it insisted on the use of native plans for landscaping around its headquarters, thereby requiring the use of less water.

Moreover, as of 2018, Miller Zell is one of just 58 companies in the nation to earn Sustainable Green Printing certification, which certifies a printing facility’s operations as sustainable.

Establish and maintain a formal management system that addresses all aspects of the Miller Zell Printing Production categories.
Foster continuous improvement in all our business activities and share information with employees, Executive Management and BOD on our environmental performance.
Where feasible, continually work with our supply chain to increase the use of materials derived from renewable resources or with low environmental impact.
Increase our use and reuse of production by-products, establish take-back programs and improve industry recycling networks.
Identify and establish a suitable means of communication with customers, consumers and industry groups to educate and inform them about sustainability.
Share environmental waste reduction goals and progress with customers via KPIs, website and customer presentations.
Continually improve and evaluate our environmental performance through periodic reviews and audits to ensure that our conduct is consistent with these principles.
Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, and commit to the principles of pollution prevention.
Educate the customer and ultimate consumer regarding the benefits of a restorative economy.
