ATLANTA, Sept. 5, 2019 – The Miller Zell Charities 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic will tee off Sept. 17 at The Manor Golf and Country Club in Alpharetta Georgia.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Susan G. Komen for The Cure, “It’s the Journey” 2-Day Atlanta walk and Susan G. Komen for the Cure 3-Day Walks in Michigan, Minneapolis, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia, Dallas and San Diego.
The Miller Zell Charities Foundation supports multiple causes and has raised over $420,000 for breast cancer research over the past decade. The 2019 golf tournament is set to be the biggest yet, with a field of 35 teams.
Miller Zell Soles, the Miller Zell associates who spearhead the charitable effort, have participated in over 20 walks over the past 11 years. In 2019, they will cover more than 1,380 miles, and two associates have committed to walking in all seven events across the country.
The money raised will help fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs, as well as support the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, which provides an endowment for breast cancer initiatives.
The tournament will offer a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., before commencing a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Golf will be followed by lunch and awards, including celebrating winners of hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin contests.
