Miller Zell to Host 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic

ATLANTA Sept. 21, 2018 – The Miller Zell Charities 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic will take place Sept. 25 at The Manor Golf and Country Club in Alpharetta Georgia. As with years past, the event will be festive and fun and perhaps a little competitive, but the greatest satisfaction for all involved will be raising money for breast cancer research.

The Miller Zell Charities Foundation supports multiple causes and has raised over $370,000 for breast cancer research over the past decade. The 2018 golf tournament is set to be the biggest yet, with 31 sponsors and a field of 30 teams.

“We believe that it’s the responsibility of all who are able to support and advocate for those of us who are fighting this terrible disease and we see this event as a great opportunity for us to do our part,” said Matt White, VP of sales & marketing at Kinter, which joins EPS Specialties Ltd., Inc. and Image Options as Diamond Sponsors.

Orora Visual, C.G Witvoet & Sons and Bodker, Ramsey, Andrews, Winograd & Wildstein are co-hosts for the event.

One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among women and the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. Each year, it is estimated that over 246,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.

“Miller Zell’s long-term support of breast cancer research stems from the energy of our associates who have been affected by the disease and want to contribute to finding a cure,” Miller Zell CEO Chip Miller said.

The event kicks off at 8 a.m., with breakfast, followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Beyond the team competition, there will be hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin contests.

When the fun is over, the beneficiaries will be breast cancer research charities: Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer and Susan G. Komen 3-Day (Atlanta and Dallas Walks).
