ATLANTA, March 16, 2020 – Ten Miller Zell associates put on their hard hats on March 11 and joined a crew from Habitat for Humanity to help build affordable housing near our Atlanta headquarters.
This is not a one-time deal. Our associates have volunteered for Habitat for Humanity projects several times over the past few years.
Why? Giving back is part of our corporate mission.
Miller Zell Charities contributes to over 80 different charities annually. Over the past 12 years, we’ve given more than $740,000 to good causes.
Whether it’s walking to defeat breast cancer, volunteering at the Special Olympics, joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, fundraising to help exploited women or working with local leaders to make the community surrounding our Atlanta headquarters better, Miller Zell and our associates believe charitable giving, volunteering and community support are critical to our corporate culture.
Miller Zell Charities has hosted our Annual Charity Golf Classic since 2009 and raised over half a million dollars for breast cancer research. Our last tournament, in September at the Manor Golf & Country Club, raised OVER $125,000. The net proceeds benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure, It’s The Journey 2-Day Atlanta Walk and other local charities. These funds support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
Over a decade ago, several Miller Zell associates formed the “Miller Zell Soles” team which participates in walks to defeat breast cancer. Last year, the Miller Zell Soles walked 840 miles, and two walkers participated in all seven walks across the country.
Miller Zell Charities contributes to over 80 different charities annually. Causes range from the Great Cycle Challenge USA, the Bankhead Boys Association, Wellspring Living, Habitat for Humanity, CVS Charity Classic, Special Olympics Georgia, West Georgia Autism Foundation, Lupus Foundation, the NWA Children’s Shelter, among others selected by our associates.
