The Challenge

Reliant leased Walmart’s tenant space as a storefront to sell energy and security plans, but it struggled to attract shoppers. Reliant needed distracted Walmart customers to stop and talk. It asked Miller Zell to create a new strategy and store design to better engage and inform shoppers.

The Solution

Miller Zell focused its strategic design on the sales/enrollment process and attracting passersby. We created store zones and tools to support Reliant representatives as they engaged shoppers. Inviting front-of-store messaging showcased customer testimonials, and third-party ratings built credibility.

The Result

Customer engagement delivered. Traffic to stores is up, and the new locations are seeing double-digit growth. “The new design is attracting customers and making the job of the agent much easier from an initial engagement standpoint,” said Meghan McConomy, Director of Business Development at Reliant.
